How about the number spammed units give an equal amount of command points to your opponent. 4 Stormravens gives 4 command points, etc.

Interesting ideas, I think others would be interested in that.

That would seem really punishing for units that are intended to be taken in multiple small units by design (e.g. Tau Tactical Drones) or units that are the sole option for their codex (such as Battle Sisters, the only troop option for SoB.)

Oh and Flyers can’t score objectives at all.

I think flyers not being able to score unless they are in hover mode makes a lot of sense. It worked well last edition.

I still don’t think that will solve it. The players of those lists literally don’t care about the mission because they can comfortably table their opponent by turn 2 or 3

Honestly getting table by 4/5 storm ravens is list specific to what they are going against.

So punish all flyers except the Imperial ones, which are often the most-complained about ones? That seems like an odd choice.

Do you have ideas already one what the mission changes would be?

So spamming assault cannon razorbacks is okay but running 4 fliers isn’t? What about guys wanting to run 60 assault marines or a bike army you can no longer run those lists ether. Just seems there is a better way.

I maintain that i think progressive missions that are objective focus (with some kill x enemy untis scattered in) will help to fix the flier problem in a way that’s fair for most players.

Fliers are 1 expensive model that has limited control over where it goes or if it hovers becomes very easy to take down. Making it so the flier player needs to really limit their movement with objectives in mind. This makes it difficult for the fliers to effectively contest objectives against most armies (keep of course most model at objectives means you claim it).

As has been mentioned other armies will have to worry about being tabled, but i think these are more a deeper issue as 4 stormravens don’t really put out more damage than you could with about 1k points of guard armed to the teeth, and these list would be getting tabled anyway.

Have Reace of Franky played against the storm raven list?? i’d like to see such a battle report.

Since I haven’t seen it anywhere else, can we get an official ruling on how abilities with the same name as wargear function? Specifically, there are a number of units in the game that have an ability that is identical to wargear elsewhere in the codex (e.g. Eldar Spirit Stones and Forceshield, Tau Target Lock, etc) but do not have that item in their wargear list.

Do these units have to pay for the item, or should it be assumed that it is included in the base cost of the unit? The “does not include wargear” text isn’t terribly useful in this case, since these items aren’t listed as wargear except in the descriptions of other units.
