Rant Session

Tactics Corner

Rules Lawyer

  • Mycetic Spore Pod has 45 degree fire arcs for each gun per the ITC Faq which had been voted on by the council a while back, which has been updated and is available on FLG’s website under the community tab.
  • Rare Knights: You can take 1 of each in a detachment, but cannot duplicate them unless they are the only type in the detachment, or you take 2 of the same rare and 2 of another rare type (or non rare) and have one in your LoW slot.

It was the Tyrannocyte that took the nerf bat not the Mycetic Spore Pod.

Random question: do Tyranid spore mines or other models with the “Living Bomb” rule count for the purposes of First Blood? It would seem that as they do not award victory points when destroyed, they would not give the 1 VP for FB, but technically speaking could a player not kill the spore mines to trigger the FB condition (completely destroying the first unit of the game), and simply “deny” their opponent the objective? At the end of the game, the unit that counted for FB would be found to be one that cannot give VPs upon destruction. I cannot find a recent discussion of this, maybe because the answer is obvious, but from the wording it seems there could be an argument.
