List Review

From Fleet of Claw, and a big shout out to you for what you’re going through personally. We’re rooting for you!

Dakka Flyrant with Regen – Keep the warlord alive, see if it’s worth it on a ‘Rant. Desperate attempt to retain Biomancy-esque survivability

Dakka Flyrant

Elite

2 Zoanthropes

2 Zoanthropes

2 Venomthropes – yeah these guys will be running for their lives against Tau, Eldar, Thunderfire cannons, Helldrakes, Perfect Timing… but catch someone without ignore cover and they’ll give so much durability to the bugs moving upfield

Troops

Tervigon with Norn Crown (ugh) – Why the crown? A) I want every chance at Catalyst I can possibly get my hands on, B) worst case I grab Dominion and she’s throwing 24″ Synapse. Basically I can’t abide having the Backlash range the same as freaking Synapse

30 gants, 10 devourers – pretty cool we can hide devourer gants in tgants – not worth losing spods 🙁

30 gants, 10 devourers (maybe split this brood and bulk them up with the extra points)

Heavy

Wow… an FOC slot I’m actually excited about!

I think the top 3 contenders here are Biovores, Exocrines, and acid spray TFexes so why not take all 3 for now while we’re feeling all experimental?

3 Biovores – These bad boys have 1 more wound, cost 5 points less, better miss and spore drift rules – never build a list without some
Exocrine – *so* hard to walk away from pulsating, white hot Doomrider-esque plasma, may his enemies be granted simultaneously orgasmic death
Tfex, acid spray, Regen – yup, another sprinkle of Regen, and probably the best possible place to put it, our most durable, 6 wound big bug. Score some Catalyst and this fatty McGee will be very tough to bring down
This puts me at 1830, and clearly there is some wiggle room. I can easily drop the Regen on either the Flyrant or Tfex and that would give me 50pts to put another Zoanthrope in one of my broods just to make the Synapse that much more durable. Or I can get more gants, maybe split the 2nd brood of gants in half to get another scoring unit. But I’m so dang tight on Synapse as it is 😛

Thanks for the shout out guys! The support our family has gotten is awesome, and it’s always good to know that behind our blackened souls and withered hearts, us gamers have it in us to show some love too!

As far as the list, I agree, the Flyrant may not be the best place to put regen. I’m going to give it a go for now, and if in too many games it goes belly up, I’ll dump it. If I do drop it that gives me 50 total points to play with, I can split that 2nd gant squad and bulk it up.

I love Franky’s enthusiasm for Tyrnid Primes, but I refuse to play him almost out of principle. Why should I play him just because GW nerfed everything else, jacked up the Prime’s price and mocked me, daring me to overpay for our only IC Synapse. Think of this, we weren’t using him last ‘dex, what changed that would make him worthwhile now? Other then our other choices suck… *cry*. So they made a bush league option *worse* and want me to come begging and grovelling to them to play it?! I say GOOD DAY SIR!

Good luck with your personal stuff, I am sure all will be well!

And I agree on the stupid Prime! He was fine as he was, why the hell did he go up in points?! It just pisses me off! Haha.

And apparently (a guy told a guy) that termagants are so named because The Guardian Newspaper once referred to Margaret Thatcher as one and the design team at the time really didn’t like her much so used it for a laugh.
