A Warmachine Video Game on the Way?

A Warmachine Video Game in the works! Nice!

Several years ago, Privateer Press teamed up with video game developer WhiteMoon Dreams to create a WARMACHINE video game. After a great deal of effort and considerable expense to themselves, WhiteMoon Dreams produced a playable demo of an action-adventure game that we showed off at Lock & Load and E3 a couple years ago.

Privateer Press Announces Kickstarter Campaign to Fund WARMACHINE Video Game

BELLEVUE, WA, June 26, 2013 – Privateer Press announced the upcoming launch of a Kickstarter campaign to fund WARMACHINE: Tactics, a turn-based, squad-level strategy game for PC and Mac being developed in cooperation with WhiteMoon Dreams. The company also announced the formation of a new publishing entity, Privateer Press Interactive, Inc., which will conduct the Kickstarter campaign and serve as the video game’s publisher. Privateer Press will announce the start date for the WARMACHINE: Tactics Kickstarter campaign soon.

WARMACHINE: Tactics will include a single-player campaign and feature synchronous and asynchronous online multi-player play. The game will launch with two playable factions—Cygnar and Khador. A stretch goal for the Kickstarter campaign, if met, would add Cryx and the Protectorate of Menoth to the game’s launch. WARMACHINE: Tactics will also be expanded with downloadable content.

Privateer Press Interactive’s partner in the project, WhiteMoon Dreams, boasts a veteran team of game developers who have worked on blockbuster titles including the Fallout series, Descent, Ratchet & Clank, Medal of Honor, Command & Conquer, and many others.

“Privateer Press and WhiteMoon Dreams both have a burning desire to bring a WARMACHINE video game to life,” said Matt Wilson, founder and chief creative officer of Privateer Press, “so we’ve joined forces to Kickstart WARMACHINE: Tactics and give the people for whom we’re making the game the power to make it a reality.” Jay Koottarappallil, WhiteMoon Dreams’ CEO, is determined to make WARMACHINE: Tactics a smashing success. “We are incredibly excited about this opportunity to connect with gamers, and we know they are going to love what we are planning,” he says. “They have been waiting very patiently and now with the power of Kickstarter we can bring this directly to them.”

We will do a Warmahordes bat rep. Honestly, I hesitate because I don’t know the rules as well as 40K, but only one way to really learn, and that is by jumping in and making mistakes!

Don’t worry too much about the ruleset is pretty solid so once you’ve got it down you’re sorted. Not like a 40K game where the comments become an argument about who can infiltrate with what/where and why…Would love to see your fun style applied to a warmahordes batrep 😛
