Another excellent nail-biter with some classic miniatures (I’m looking at you carnifex).

Pretty sweet BatRep. Not a fan of the cards but great job guys I really enjoyed.
LMAO at 1:34:40 That looks like my rolls there.
Hi Masos, glad you enjoyed it. Maelstrom is pretty divisive but it was actually refreshing to play as its been a while. Change as good as a holiday and all that. I intend we mix it up as we do more. Cheers.
Honestly, when Maelstrom first came out I thought it was too random and didn’t like it. But now I love it more than EW missions. It’s so much more dynamic and rewards armies that don’t just sit in one place or rely on a single deathstar.
With that being said, most people make some houserules about unachievable cards – but its a good premise. Just need to cut down on some “kill this FMC” or “kill a psyker” cards seeing as they can’t always be achieved.
Mostly we throw anything that can’t be achieved (no flyers taken, no destructible buildings, so on) on the fly and re draw. I do fund it an uphill battle convincing people to play this mode but have always said you should build an army for each style specifically rather than try and shoehorn one army into both.
That is definitely true. EW you can build lists with less mobility or less overall units and be just fine. In Maelstrom you need units that can move quickly and you typically need a lot of them. It’s a different feel for a game, but I like it a lot. You just have to get people to get over the “random cards” aspect. In my experience, it’s not a problem in most games.
