Sunday Preview: Zoats and Spiders

GW brings us a sneak preview of some of the new goodies on the way!

Next week, the new chapter of the Psychic Awakening saga is available to pre-order, along with a model for one of the galaxy’s most depraved villains. You’ll also be able to venture deeper than ever before into the Blackstone Fortress, and there’s a book from Black Library on the way. Let’s start with the highlights.

In the 41st Millennium, having four limbs is so passé. As if the Blackstone Fortress wasn’t strange enough, along comes the six-limbed Zoat to aid your adventurers. The Deadly Alliance expansion features a quest where you try to quell the Seethe, a maze of shifting chambers that threatens to destroy the Fortress itself. Only the Zoat knows how to prevent this, so you must gain its trust and follow it into the hidden depths.

The expansion also includes rules for using the stunning Zoat model in games of Warhammer 40,000 where it can join any army. Whether you want to complete the quest and save Blackstone Fortress, add a mercenary xenos to your Warhammer 40,000 army or just want the nostalgic warm glow of owning a Zoat model, grab yourself Deadly Alliance.

You know what’s as good as six limbs? Eight!* Fabius Bile returns with an awesome model, which is every inch true to the iconic Clonelord. And he’s not alone. Fabius is accompanied by his Surgeon Acolyte, a twisted creation that helps him with his experiments. The pair are an excellent addition to a Chaos Space Marines army as they can improve their fellow heretics in battle. They also make a great painting or modelling project.**

Fabius is the titular character in War of the Spider, the next book in the galaxy-spanning Psychic Awakening storyline. He returns to the ruins of Cadia,*** hunted by the Death Guard and Imperial agents. This would be too much for many people, but they don’t call him the Spider for nothing, so we’ll see who’s actually falling into who’s trap. The book has rules for the Death Guard, Adeptus Custodes, Sisters of Silence, Imperial Assassins and Creations of Bile, a new way of playing Chaos Space Marines. Keep your eyes on the Warhammer Community website as we’ll be revealing some of these rules throughout the week. War of the Spider is available as in hardback and ePub formats as well as a deluxe collector’s edition, which includes short stories and a soft touch cover.

If you want it to get new rules for your army or to keep up with the unfolding Psychic Awakening saga, make sure that you grab War of the Spider. And act fast if you want that collector’s edition.

Fabius Bile is also the lead character in next week’s release from Black Library. Manflayer sees Bile working on his New Men but the monstrous haemonculi of the Thirteen Scars have another idea. As the Clonefather seeks out new allies and old enemies, what will he be willing to sacrifice to see his experiments survive?

This is book 3 in the Fabius Bile series and will be available in a glorious hardback edition, alongside MP3 audiobook and eBook versions.

This Week’s Highlights

It’s going to be another full week here on the Warhammer Community website as we continue to look ahead to the new edition of Warhammer 40,000. We’ll be taking a closer look at Vehicles, monstrous creatures, blast weapons and terrain, as well as previewing rules from War of the Spider.

On Saturday, you’ll be able to catch the next Warhammer Preview Online! Last month, we revealed the new edition of Warhammer 40,000. This time, we have something else amazing for you – the upcoming boxed set. We’ll be lifting the lid and showing off the awesome models and more that the launch box contains – so make sure that you join us from 2pm (BST). We think this is the best Warhammer 40,00 boxed set that we’ve ever made, so don’t miss it!

Remember that Warhammer TV also has daily shows looking at the new edition, along with loads of other great hobby programmes throughout the week.

It’s another exciting week for Warhammer. Remember to stay safe, share your hobby online with #WarhammerCommunity and come back on Saturday for these pre-orders.

* Actually, Fabius Bile has probably created his fair share of so-called ‘New Men’ with eight limbs.
** We can’t wait to see what dioramas you come up with using these models…
*** It’s a good job he’s got that coat made of skin on, we’ve heard that Cadia can be chilly at this time of year, floating through the void of space in pieces.
