News

  • GW has been previewing more Psychic Awakening, dropping the hint “Faith and Fury.” In the video you see symbols for Chaos Space Marine legions, Sisters of Battle and Black Templars.

  • The SoCal Open has come and gone and what an awesome event it was! It ran incredibly smoothly, people were having a good time and generally it was just a great event.
    • 40k Champs Results
      • T’au win it with Brian Pullen at the helm who played through some incredibly tough customers.
      • John Lennon got second with White Scars and Iron Hands and the final undefeated player was Colin McDade with Deathwatch/Blood Angels/Space Marines
      • Space Marines were 23% of the field going in to the event. Of the top 10, 4 armies were Marines and 1 had Marines in it. The rest were 2 T’au, Orks, Knights with Guard and Astra Militarum. Of all the 5-1 or better lists (21 in total) 8 were Marines and another 2 had Marines in their army. 3 of them were Eldar of some flavor, 2 Chaos, and 1 Custodes with a Marine detachment. Of those Marines, most of the highly successful lists were infantry based. Many of the triple Repulsor lists filtered out but there were a few in the 5-1 or better club.
      • Many of the top Marines lists were a mix of Marines.
      • Of 300 registered players we had 225 show up to roll dice so pretty significant attrition this year.
      • The stream games are being ported over to YouTube as well.
    • AoS Champs Results
      • Jeremy Veysseire won the event with his Fyreslayers.
      • Of 55 registered we had 46 show up to roll dice, strong growth over last year.
      • Of the 4-1 or better players, we had Fyreslayers, Nighthaunts, Grand Host of Nagash x 2, Skaven, Flesh Eater Courts x 2, and a Legion of Sacrament. No Slaanesh which is quite a change of pace from the larger AoS scene.
    • On the 30k side of things, the Traitors won this round.
    • Shadespire Results
      • Matthew Cassidy won the Shadespire event with The Grymwatch.
    • Kill Team Day 1 Results Congratz to Michael T Holy who won it with Asuryani.
    • Kill Team Day 2 Results Congratz to Emmanuel Mitsinikos who won with Orks.
