For a moment there I thought they had changed lootas weapons to be damage D6. Then I read it again and realized it was the spanner who could get a kustom boosta blasta. Also nice they improved the Goff trait, it was completely stupid.

Can you clarify what is meant by the change in the Grot Shield stratagem. It sounds like the ork player now can lose only 1 Gretchin and the whole attack is cancelled regardless of the number of shots or damage. (example – a 20 attack Assault cannon could be stopped by 1 Gretchin)

No, each wound (not damage) takes out a Grot. Much like Drones but they just die, no rolls to be made.

Yeah. Remember each shot is resolved individually in the BRB we only get to group them up because of the Fast Dice rule.

Thanks! Can we assume then the 2+ check is made before the saving throws are made?

As per the new wording, it is.

Just did a side by side comparison of the old rule vs. the new.

( I know you would never do this)
Old rule: vs Lootas 1 Lascannon shot 6 damage rolled. 6 dead Grots or 1 dead Loota and up to 5 dead Grots.

New rule: vs Lootas 1 Lascannon shot 6 damage rolled. 1 dead Grot or 1 dead Loota.

Results: new rule much better against multi-damage weapons, but you have to make the decision before KFF rolls or armor saves. on the flip-side if you roll a one you still get your KFF save on your non-Grot unit.

Also the possibility of many less dice needed to be thrown.

Yeah, it’s a lot better. Now anti-tank weapons are completelly useless against a horde list with lootas

Dumb. Drones were already annoying, now grots are just mega drones.

I agree this is not the optimum solution. I can understand drones for a Tau gunline army. But have drones, uh sorry grots, for your gunline (lootas) while having boys, one of the better melee/close quarters troops in the game, running (or jumping) at you is a big difference. They should have stayed like other armies and had one die per damage not one per wound. So it is either do 60 individual wounds to the grots to get to the juicy loota center, basically table them so you can assault the lootas, be Aeldari (or something with enough movement range to get over the intervening units) or have a shooty/cc enough deep striking unit that can get in a position where the shootas are closest and actually kill them (and find the gap to do it against a board control army).
