Preview: Video Bat Rep: NEW Dark Angels vs. Nurgle Chaos

Reece and Frankie battled it out with the new Dark Angels facing Frankie’s new and improved Nurgle Chaos army. This game will air Monday the 25th of December at 9am PST on our YouTube Channel.

The Dark Angels army was built to put a wide variety of units on the table and try to show off many of the stratagems and cool rules available to the Dark Angels, but it also packs quite a punch, too!

The Nurgle list is nasty, and one Frankie has been working on for some time. It features some heavy hitting units including Mortarion, Obliterators and some Plague Toads, which are crazy durable.

The Nurgle list looks nasty, been brutally won two times recently against something very similar, only that it had Plague Marines instead of daemon infantry, an extra unit of Obliterators and Jump pack marine character instead of the heralds to go with the oblits… They just start getting tally points for epidemius and it turns into a horrible list to play against, when/if the reach +1S and +1T they’re just bonkers.
On the other hand the DA list seems to pack a couple of nasty tricks, the Black Knights could make a huge whole on the list if you get a re-roll aura in range and use the plasma strat, and the deathwing Knights are going to be a tough unit to crack with those support characters.

Yeah, both lists can hit quite hard. Those Plague Toads are seriously no joke, they’re very good.

but if u take out pb’s and nurgle heralds for plague marines and lord which wont contribute or benefit from the tally, why play epidemius?

Looks great! I think the new Dark Angels are going to be super strong, though I think this list is a bit heavy on characters and the Deathwing is a bit naff. Still excited!

Death Guard is so strong imo, I’m surprised we’re not seeing more of them top events. Strong damage from Oblits and Morty, and so much chaff that can hold objectives extremely well.

Yeah, this isn’t what I would call an optimized list but it does pack a punch.

I actually really like Deathwing Knights, personally.

Those lists seem kinda skewed in strength IMO (pretty sure Nurgle will win). Lately with my games they have really been team Nurgle instead of team DG. I always gotta have my Morty, 3x DP, 3x spitter drones, 3x nurglings, and a herald or 2. I am torn between whether I want a 20 man PB unit or a 20 man PW unit… they are very similar but have a couple of different benefits.

pretty different list than the last one i ve seen Frank play, no more plague marine mob, lately i played PB over PW and i found them better, at least i dont need to dedicate 175 pts of HQ and lot of pysonic.

I actually think Morty is not nearly so good as most folks do. Frankie and I play frequently and I kill him almost every game before he does much besides soak up a lot of attention. I mean, he’s very strong but I am not certain he’s nearly so scary as many folks think he is.

We’ll see how it goes in this game, though =)

100% agree, any top list can handle him pretty easily, he just gets ton of attention and let the rest of your army do the job, in the case u dont kill him quickly he wreak havocs.

Yeah, good analysis. If you let him, he will wreck your army. If you know how to deal with him, he can fold pretty quickly.
