Great show guys as always. I’m really feeling the pain of the creep for my DE these days (I resent the suggestion that we have Eldar for allies (especially for a LoW…cough Reece cough!)), but I realize in a competitive environment its a must. AM/IG is another army thats feeling the pain these days, especially with lack of formations (probably one of the only ones minus SoB). They just aren’t super exciting, an ok book with nothing that grabs you by the balls and makes you go OH YEA (\koolaid man voice). At least in my humble opinion.

    What are your thoughts?

    Cheers!

Glad you enjoyed the show! And yeah, DE struggle a bit, these days. I think they can still compete, but that the old tactics of Venom spam and such, just don’t cut it, anymore. I have been hearing good things through, with folks using the Haemy supplement formations to win games. I think melee may, ironically, be their best bet these days.

AM can get it done, IMO. I think they really benefit form allies, but they can still take armies on with just their own book. They have orders which are awesome and some really powerful units to lean on. Forge World really helps them out a ton. Plus, they have the Steel Legion which IMO, is a great formation. But I agree, they don’t have the cool bells and whistles of the newer books.

I agree on all acounts. I’ve been having fun with the grotesqueirie and a talos squad these days, they give out a beating.

As a response to one of the later questions I think as a Codex Marine player an FAQ for scouts and dreadnoughts for Blood Angels and Space Wolf players to sort out attacks and BS WS would be very odd not too push for, for sure on a friendly level.

But I think having access to the Codex Astarties Demi and Battle company formations would be stretching it I feel, as in the fluff they’re not really a codex compliant chapters.

    • Mike July 17, 2015 5:51 pm #

Blood Angels have a battle company formation.

It sucks, which is why you never hear about it.

    • Sawyer Z July 17, 2015 6:50 pm #

The dreads should definitely get an attack boost but as a wolf player I don’t think the battle company makes much sense. And changing the scouts would be tough for wolves as our scouts are essentially vets, but compared to the new SM scouts are kinda useless imo. Sucks because I really wanna use some scout with my wolves. Maybe ill just paint up some scouts as space wolves and ally them in with white scar rules lol.

Shut yo mouth about reaper bones. Those miniatures are great. Its just them being white is what makes the detail hard to see. Did you see the showcases in the Kickstarter Videos?
