Video Battle Report: 40K Wackiness

Video Battle Report

We’re not always concerned with tournament play here at Frontline Gaming, sometimes we just screw around and have fun. This video is some of that.

I liked the idea of less competitive battle reports, but along with that I think lists should be a focus. I was kinda bummed to see tournament Death Guard and tournament Mech. BA present. However, seeing vanilla marines without a special character and Death Company BA was really cool. I’d like to see fluffy lists like those in future reports along with different missions. Let’s see some Battle Missions, or Planetstrike, or heck, hit up the guys at Astronomicon for some really zany scenarios 🙂

Also, those shooty Terminators should have fallen back, off of the table a turn or 2 sooner. It’s EVERY SUBSEQUENT movement phase that you fall back, not just your own 🙂

We enjoy playing off the wall stuff from time to time. It’s fun! As for the tournament lists, all Frankie and Will have are tournament lists! haha, but we will be adding more of these themed type battles.

Here’s an interesting one. Have each player make the opposing player’s list for them. Each side has to make it as worthless and awful as possible. Then they fight each other with them. I can see the hordes of Chaos Spawn fighting the mass of SM Scouts now. lol

Rather than the deep striking demons let the player that comes in on turn three start shooting the titan weapons just to blow crap up. Or random Ork meteor bombardments.

I really enjoyed this, and I’ll try to incorporate some of this into my FLGS, mostly the rolling to go first at the beginning of every turn, and the “objective” in the center.

I don’t remember if this was mentioned in the video, but how many points per player was this, and how long did the game take overall?
